Two fellowships that cultivate environmental leaders of tomorrow:

Environmental Leadership Program fellowships target emerging environmental and social change practitioners eager to connect their specialized work to larger environmental and social concerns. The Fellowship Program offers an intensive leadership and skill training, regional networking opportunities, and time for personal and professional reflection. Consisting of three retreats and additional optional trainings, our curriculum helps emerging leaders hone their leadership styles, improve their strategic communications, and strengthen their outreach to diverse constituencies.

Applications for ELP's Regional Fellowship Programs are now OPEN. The application deadlines have been updated as follows: • New England Regional Network: February 1, 2010 Eastern Regional Network June 1, 2010

A Sea Change is an important new film about the issue of ocean acidification - one of the other problems with having of too much carbon in the atmosphere. Could it kill the oceans? Environmental Education Resources & request for submissions

posted Mar 10, 2009

Three environmental education resources came across my desk this week that I'd like to share:

First, Richard Louv's new article in Orion magazine.

Second, Center for Ecoliteracy’s initiative, Smart by Nature: Schooling for Sustainability, provides information, inspiration, and support to the vital movement of K-12 educators, parents, and others who are helping young people gain the knowledge, skills, and values essential to sustainable living.

Thirdly, the Children & Nature Network, which in addition to offering great resources, is looking for your ideas, too. See the file below for full submission guidelines, but in a nutshell, C&NN is looking for imaginative activities that help families engage with nature, and the best ideas will be distributed by C&NN web sites, workshops, resources for C&NN’s Nature Clubs for Families, and so on. Deadline is Fall 2009. CNNsubmissionsrequestfinalFeb1LH.doc

National Council of Nonprofit Associations

posted Jul 30, 2008

National Council of Nonprofit Associations provides a variety of programs and services to assist the leadership and partnership of non profit organizations. With the help of NCNA, organizations should be able to further discuss public policy and positively influence local and national communities. "National voice, state focus, and local impact" is their tagline and it sounds good to me! They offer technical assistance, e-newsletters, policy updates, research analysis, networking events, and case stories on relevant information to their members.
