Archis Acres Veterans Sustainable Agriculture Training (VSAT) is available to all veterans upon approval of the San Diegos VA Health Cares CWT clinic. The program is three months and up to 40 hours a week. The veterans will work hands operating the farm, as well as curriculum based studies. Attendees must provide transportation to work site based in North County of San Diego. Any veterans interested e-mail us for available positions and further eligibility requirements.
Our Program
Archis Acres VSAT is targeted to veterans who may be interested in returning to the work force in the agricultural industry. We coordinate with the Compensated Work Therapy/Veterans Industries (VI/CWT) program. Our Bio-Organic Growing course offers trainees a full range of learning experiences that include hands on training and text book learning. Course work includes produce production, from seeds to the end user, and sales channels from wholesalers and retailers to the farmers market.
Our Commitment
The foundation of Archis Acres is a commitment to sustainable agriculture and to veterans who want to make a fresh start. We are in business to serve veterans and offer a focused work environment that teaches more than just organic gardening. We believe that our focus on veterans, agriculture and life skills is one that will ultimately prove to be of benefit to veterans as well as to their communities.
