Native Groundcovers

Whately, MA
September 26, 2009

Saturday, September 26, 2-4 p.m. Native Groundcovers. Nasami Farm, Whately, MA. Groundcovers act as living mulches, preventing erosion and soil compaction, while conserving moisture and moderating soil temperatures. Beyond strictly practical considerations are the aesthetic delights of groundcovers—they bring refreshing seasonal changes and a pleasing rhythmic interplay of form, texture and color to the ground plane. This workshop is appropriate for garden designers, landscapers and homeowners. Instructor: Laura Eisener focuses on the attributes and availability of native plants for groundcover use. Fee: $22 (Member) / $26 (Nonmember). Pre-registration is necessary, contact the registrar at 508-877-7630, ext. 3303.
