About The Orion Grassroots Network
Since its founding in 1997, the Orion Grassroots Network (OGN) has supported the efforts of organizations working every day to heal the fractured relationships between people, their communities, and the land. It has built connections with groups in every US state and dozens of countries doing indispensable work in their home places to improve the world. Grassroots organizing is a major force for change, and the Network mirrors the diversity of this movement.
The Orion Grassroots Network is a program of The Orion Society, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Other programs include the bi-monthly Orion magazine; Orion gatherings, which brings people (including OGN members) together to discuss and reflect upon the most important issues of the day, and Orion Education, which helps teachers and parents connect children to nature.

Membership Criteria
The Orion Grassroots Network connects people at work in social benefit organizations whose missions serve people and planet. There are many ways to organize to do that -- as an official non-profit, an ad-hoc group, and even as a for-profit or governmental agency. So long as a group can demonstrate that it is mission-driven for social benefit, the group and its members are welcomed here.
